Abstract

This study assessed the village executive officer‘s commitment to Tanzania social action fund project performance: a case of Siha district council. The study was guided by three specific objectives; to determine the effect of affective, continuous and normative commitment on Village executive officers to Tanzania social action fund project performance. The organizational commitment theory guided this study. The study employed positivist research philosophy and quantitative approach. explanatory research design was used. a sample size of 58 was randomly sampled from a population of 68 village executive officers from Siha District Council. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data while descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used as data analysis instruments. It was revealed that all independent variables namely affective, continuous and normative commitment were found to be positive and significantly related to village executive officers to Tanzania social action fund project performance. Based on these findings this study recommends that there should be Development of initiatives that foster a stronger emotional connection between VEOs and their roles. Secondly, develop and implement programs and initiatives aimed at increasing the continuous commitment of VEOs to their roles. Lastly, reinforce the values and norms that underpin normative commitment within the organization. Ensure that VEOs understand and align with the core values of TASAF projects, which can strengthen their sense of obligation and commitment.
