Abstract

The study aimed at assessing factors affecting the implementation of fee free education in community secondary schools in socio-economic support to quality in Tanzania rural areas. This study specifically assessed socio-economic factors over the stakeholders’ contributions fee free secondary education to quality improvement, to identify the stakeholders’ contributions to implement education to quality; recommend the correct strategies to improve education; determine the material and moral support for quality education. The study conducted on 5 community secondary schools in Chunya district, where qualitative and quantitative approaches used and the probability and non-probability sampling were used to obtain 200 respondents including educational stakeholders and parents/guardians. Questionnaires, interviews were administered to get validated facts reviews. The study revealed that, all the factors associated by socio-economic over the stakeholders’ contributions which have a great influence in implementing and improving the fee free education to quality. In fact, the parents/guardians and other stakeholders had less commitment to participate, contribute and less awareness to take critical care and follow-up in fee free secondary education with the notion that, the government has a responsibility 100%, as a result imposed to the challenges to improve the quality of education. Moreover, the study suggests that, broader stakeholders should be informed and involved on how they could go on implementing and improving fee free education because it requires planning, commitment and higher investment, both morally and materially support.
