Abstract

This project was conducted at Kelamfua Mokala ward. The project targeted to establish block production group as a way of encouraging youth at KelamfuaMokala ward to engage themselves in economic activities rather than engaging themselves in illegal activities that can lead them to jail. The project involved 20 members of the group, these people were consulted to form a group, they were all from Kelamfua Mokala ward as the ward has been facing climatic change and most of agricultural activities have failed. The project has three objectives; to establish a blocks production group at Kelamfua Mokala ward, to provide training concerning good techniques that help them produce blocks with quality and train them on how they can get access to financial services from financial institutions. All the objectives were achieved as the researcher and the members of the group managed to establish the group, also the group got successfully training on techniques of producing quality blocks. Furthermore, the blocks group received successfully the trainings on how to get financial services from financial institutions. The study recommends that the government through local government authority at ward level should provide trainings to the youth group who are engaging in blocks production so that to make them active towards searching for loans from financial institutions. Lastly, there is a need for government officials at ward level to have an environment that is supportive to the youth particularly on the issue of capital as the current youth group faced a lot of difficulties during early stages of the group.
