Abstract

The purpose of the study is to establish the factors which determine employees' commitment in an organization. In pursuit of this objective, the methodology which was used included field surveys, face to face interviews, observations and review of relevant documents. Analysis was done using qualitative and quantitative methods. The Survey data were analyzed using SPSS [statistical packages for social sciences] and excel programs. Data were transcribed and synthesized descriptively, which involved calculation for percentages. The findings show that factors that determine employees' commitment In an organization are varied and included pay packages, promotions, training, management feed back and job satisfaction. Based on these findings, the study recommends that organizations should increase job satisfaction with attractive compensation packages, fair promotions and fair training opportunities. It further recommends that organizations should provide attractive work policies and scheme of work, provide attractive work environment, establish a good rewarding system and ensure employees'job security
