Causes, Impacts and Solutions of Intraparty Conflicts in Tanzania from 1995 to 2020.

Abstract
This research broadly aimed at investigating the causes, impacts and solutions of intraparty conflicts in Tanzania from 1995 to 2020. These 25 years, are crucial since they had three distinctive political climate in three government phases. The study explored intraparty clashes from the third phase to the fifth phase governments with different sphere of political influences in political arena. Simple random and stratified sampling procedures were used to obtain 30 respondents sample size. Data were collected using interviews and documentary review methods. Interviews were carried out using face to face and via mobile phone voice and WhatsApp video calls with an application of open - ended questions. A documentary review involved a critical review of books, laws, journals, constitutions of parties in question and official websites for extraction of data about causes, impacts and solutions of the intraparty misunderstandings in Tanzania from 1995 to 2020. Data on intraparty conflicts in Tanzania which were obtained by interviewing respondents were analysed using the narrative analysis technique with numerous tasks including data collating, summarising, editing, comparing, contrasting, revising and merging. Data from documents were analysed using content analysis method by critically analysing both the data validity and reliability. This study established managerial, social, economic, political, legal and constitutional causes and solutions of intraparty rivalries in Tanzania. The social, economic, political and legal impacts of intraparty clashes were discovered, with vivid negative implications for general state development. Conclusively, this study indicates that most of intraparty conflicts in Tanzania originate from the weaknesses of political parties or state institutions and systems. Intraparty conflicts have impacts on political parties, the general public and state institutions. Nonetheless, the study suggests that there are multi solutions to intraparty conflicts in Tanzania which need stakeholders’ enforcement. For avoidance and resolving of intraparty conflicts in Tanzania state and political parties institutions strengthening is recommended.
