Abstract
The study conducted aiming at improving livelihoods of HAZINA youth group through a car wash project conducted at Ruaha ward in Kilosa District. The community members and the researcher studied the necessity of car wash project business in the study area. One of the objectives was to enhance intervention and deliverance. Different ways and processes (steps) made this possible including development of the group strategic plan. The overall objective of the project was to find out the challenges that the community are facing and resources which are available in the community. Implementation was conducted following the assessment which indicated what initiatives need to be undertaken to achieve the intended goals. Through survey the researcher identified three appropriate strategies namely, the establishment of car wash project, capacity building for car wash members on micro-enterprise development and to empower project committee on supervision skills and exercise sustainable development activities. Target group were mobilized to contribute {solicit} money for raising fund of which the response was that 08 youths joined the car wash project named as HAZINA youth group as it is now continuing with its/car wash operations. The project group members were trained on marketing, financial management and then the group were registered at ward level. The implementation of the project was based on community needs assessment which was carried out during the participatory assessment process.
