Effectiveness of Digitalization on Revenue Collection Efficiency.

Abstract
This study assessed the effectiveness of digitalization on revenue collection efficiency basin on the application of POS machines at Kinondoni Municipality. The specific objectives of this study include assessing the effect of perceived usefulness of POS machines on revenue collection efficiency at Kinondoni Municipality, to assess the effect of perceived ease of use of POS machines on revenue collection efficiency at Kinondoni Municipality, to assess the effect of perceived trust of POS machines on revenue collection efficiency at Kinondoni Municipality. The study was underpinned by the positivism philosophy and used a quantitative approach to achieve its objectives. The study employed a total of 154 respondents who were obtained from the Kinondoni Municipal Council. These included municipal officials and businessmen within the municipality. Data was collected using a questionnaire survey tool which comprised of closed-ended questions using a Likert scale format. A total of 150 questionnaires were filled out and returned to the researcher giving a total response rate of 97.4%. Data were analysed using the SPSS programme version 20 which enabled performance of multiple regression analysis and other statistical computations. Firstly, the findings from this study show that digital technology application in revenue collection has a significant positive effect on revenue collection efficiency. The findings of this study revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived trust have a significant effect on revenue collection efficiency.
