The effects of Performance Appraisal on Employees’ Performance a case study TCAA.

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of open performance review and appraisal system on employee’s Performance at Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. Specifically, the study addressed the following objectives; to determine the effects of appraisal system management on employees’ performance in TCAA, to assess the effects of appraisal system knowledge on employees’ performance in TCAA, and to determine the effects of appraisal system awareness on employees’ performance in TCAA. A descriptive survey design was used with quantitative research approach. The study used 112 TCAA employees questionnaire as a primary data collection tool. Descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings revealed that appraisal system management was positive, statistically and significantly effective on employee’s performance at Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. Secondly it was found that appraisal system knowledge was positive, statistically and significantly effective on employee’s performance at Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority and lastly it was found that app employee’s performance at Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority Appraisal system awareness was positively, statistically and significantly effective on. The study recommends that the management of TCAA should seriously improve the available appraisal system management so as to make effective, accurate, fair, and efficient. The study also recommends that appraisal system knowledge should continue to be provided to all employees. The study further recommends the management of TCAA should continue to invest in providing appraisal system awareness to all employees.
