Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of organizational politics on project goals attainment in non- Governmental organization in Tanzania; A case study of the Union of Tanzania Press Clubs. The study was guided by four specific objectives; to determine the effect of organization conflicts on project goals attainment, to determine the effects of interest group on project goals attainment, to determine the effects of perception of politics on organization goals attainment and to determine the effect of opportunity for development on organization goals. The study deployed the case study research design and quantitative design as the main data collection methods. The quantitative research design techniques used in the analysis of the problem, the primary data were used examined by using descriptive statics and inferential analysis, Pearson correlation analysis for testing relationships. There was a positive effect relationship of organization conflicts on project goals attainment, there is a positive effect relationship of interest group on project goals attainment. Perception of politics was also found to have a positive effect relationship on organization goals attainment and to lastly the positive effect relationship was found between opportunities for development on organization goals. The study recommends that, organizations need to invest in human resource management to create the free of politics working environment so as to minimize the effect of it and to enhance the organization development to avoid collapse of the organization.
