Assessment of Rewards System for Employees Retention in TVET Institutions in Tanzania.

Abstract
This study evaluated the reward system for staff retention in TVET institutions in Tanzania. The specific objectives of the study were to determine the extent to which intrinsic rewards motivate employees to remain in TVET institutions in Tanzania and to identify the challenges of the reward system in TVET institutions in Tanzania. The study adopted a descriptive design in which a quantitative approach was applied. The data was collected by means of questionnaires and documentation. The data were analyzed based on descriptive statistics and positivistic assumptions when interpreting the results. The study results show a positive correlation of 0.5, suggesting that rewards positively affect the motivation of staff in vocational training institutions in Tanzania. There was also a high positive correlation of 0.7, indicating that rewards motivate employee retention, supported by 88% of respondents. In addition, it was shown that there are challenges related to reward systems, as they were endorsed by 90% of respondents. The study results indicated that there are various intrinsic and extrinsic rewards that motivate staff retention in the TVET institution in Tanzania. Based on the results, it is recommended that management in the TVET institution in Tanzania focus on promoting intrinsic and extrinsic reward motives, which increases company satisfaction and job loyalty, and promotes employee collaboration and performance.
