Impact of Employee relations on Organisation Performance: A case of Sumbawanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority.

Abstract
This study sought to examine the effect of employee relations on organization performance with reference to Sumbawanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority. The study was guided by five objectives; to find out the effect of employee empowerment, to determine the effect of initiating employee suggestions, to assess the influence of training and development, to examine the effect of conflict management and to determine the effect of facilitating collective bargaining on organizational performance at SUWASA. Descriptive survey design was used with quantitative approach. The sample size of 80 respondents was drawn from 120 populations. Data were collected through questionnaires, analyzed descriptively and inferential statistics through multiple regression analysis. The study found that all five independent variables (Employees empowerment, initiating employee suggestions, training and development, conflict management and facilitating collective bargaining) were statistically positively and significantly related to organizational performance. The study recommends that employees should be given choices included in decision making, should be provided room to air their views freely, frequent training should be provided, on time promotion and career development. Damaging conflicts should be resolved and managed and lastly proper employee participation through trade unions should be improved.
