Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine job satisfaction on the performance of the Seaports in Tanzania taking a case of Dar es Salaam Seaport operations. The study was interested on observing how working conditions influencing employees’ job satisfaction at Seaports performance in Tanzania, the importance of supervisor quality in influencing organization performance and the significance of coworkers’ relations in influencing employees job satisfactions at Seaports performance in Tanzania. Various source of literature was consulted and used in this study; theory such as Expectancy theory and Herzberg two-factor theory were used to justify employees’ job satisfaction and organization performance. The study employed the use of case study as research designs where both qualitative and quantitative approach were used, interview and questionnaire were the tools used to collect data. The study population was the employees of Dar es Salaam Seaport; the study employed purposive sampling and stratified simple random sampling technique to select the employees used in the study. The findings revealed that, employees’ working environment, coworkers’ relationship, leadership style and support play a great rule in creating employees’ job satisfactions at the Dar es Salaam Seaport that stimulate the increase of working morale hence result into organization productivity.
