Abstract

The study sought to examine the effect of non monetary motivation on Tanzania health organizations employee performance: A case study of Makole hospital Dodoma. Four objectives guided the study; to determine the effect of training on employee performance, to determine the effect of advancement on workers performance, to determine the effect of targets on employees performance and lastly to determine the effect of team building on workforce performance. The study used positivism philosophy with quantitative approach. Deductive design was used from Makole hospital as a cased study. Structured questionnaire were used to collect data from 87 randomly sampled hospital employees both clinical and administrative staff. The study found that employee’s performance was positively and statistically significantly related to training. Also the study found that employee’s performance was positively, and statistically significantly, related to promotion. Further the study found that employee’s performance was positively, and statistically significantly, related to target setting to the employees and lastly the study found that employee’s performance was positively, and statistically significantly, related to team building. From the findings the study recommends that the management of Makole hospital should invest on training its staff frequently. Also, promotion of staff is recommended; thirdly clear hospital targets should be set. Lastly employees should be encouraged to work in good team relationships especially in their shifts or departments. Keywords: Non Monetary Motivation, Employees Performance, Health, Training.
