Abstract

The purpose of this research is to enhance the understanding on the factors affecting the opportunities identification for successful business to the people of different level in the society including employed and non employed community. Taken together earlier studies have suggested a wide knowledge on the entrepreneurship and growth, Yet no very much explained on the reasons and factors that affect the opportunities identification that can led one to be an entrepreneur. Four components have been explained in the this research study in relation to those factors, these have been shown as perception on the meaning of the business opportunities . Examine the level of business opportunities awareness, Examine the factors that facilitate business opportunities identification and Examining factors that hinder business opportunities identification. Using the questionnaires, data from three different wards and respondents of various cadres such as businessmen, employed, unemployed and other community members were collected, the questionnaire found to be a very useful technique for collecting and analyzing data of which the result largely found to be useful. General finding indicate that there are different factors affecting the opportunities identification. The findings indicate the challenges facing people on opportunities identification, the proposed recommendation for those challenges and the key factors to consider before opportunities identification have been also mentioned and indeed, this research study is very useful in policy implication, to policy makers, industry and academics.
